Physiotherapy

The purpose of Physiotherapy is to restore and maintain mobility, function, independence and performance, tailoring treatments to each individual animal’s condition and the stage of rehabilitation.

Consultation Format

Animals, like people, respond to Physiotherapy. The purpose of physiotherapy for
animals is to restore and maintain mobility, function, independence, and performance.
Our physiotherapy team has undergone training in physiotherapy and
rehabilitation for animals with specialist knowledge in anatomy, biomechanics,
physiology, and pathology using detailed assessment to tailor treatments to each
animal’s condition and stage of the problem. Veterinary consent is required prior to
treatment, ARC will ensure this is obtained after the client has booked an appointment.
The physiotherapy consultations combine a full clinical assessment with treatment
protocols tailored to restore and maintain an animal’s mobility, function, and
performance. The owner will normally be present the entire time and will be advised on
how to continue the treatment plan at home. Clients are encouraged to bring their pet
to the centre for their treatment as this is the most effective place to conduct the
consultation. On occasions, it may be necessary to see the patient in their home
environment. This can be arranged if required. The consultation is conducted within a
private room within the ARC centre but clients have free access to ARC’s facilities during
their stay.
