In 1993 Michele was awarded a Licentiate in Acupuncture having completed a three years training in acupuncture at the British College of Acupuncture, London (Human Clients only).

Michele qualified as a Chartered Veterinary Physiotherapist in 2005, having completed a further Post Graduate Diploma at the Royal Veterinary College, London, following which she has expanded her Musculoskeletal Private Practice to include large and small animals as well as humans.

Common complaints treated by Chartered Physiotherapists in animal musculoskeletal therapy include: spinal problems – such as disc disease; joint problems – OA, DJD, swelling, pain, stiffness; Post surgical rehab – orthopedic or neurological; sports injuries; injuries to muscle, ligaments and tendons, poor performance issues as well as routine checks to keep your animal in peak fitness.

Manual treatment is obviously a large part of her work as a Physiotherapist, with the purpose to restore and maintain mobility, function, independence and performance of both small and large animals.

Michele’s physiotherapy electrotherapy equipment includes an ultrasound, which has been proved to be effective in tendon and ligament injuries to accelerate / improve healing, as well as on general soft tissue injuries; a low level light laser, again for tissue healing but also for pain relief, trigger points, soft tissue injuries, and especially on open wound healing.

Michele is also equipped with muscle stimulators that are used to assess muscle activity and can affect and assist in muscle strengthening pre and post operatively.

She actively encourages clients to help themselves with home exercise programmes and encourage owners to be involved in the care and rehabilitation of their animals with exercise programmes such as stretches and active gait rehabilitation.

Veterinary Consent is required by law for Michele to see your animal.
