Dog Physiotherapy
Qualified Staff
As you will see from their profiles our Veterinary Physiotherapists have both entered the animal world from a wealth of experience and qualifications in human physiotherapy. Most importantly they are chartered registered physiotherapists ACPT Cat A. This is the only recognised qualification within the animal physiotherapy profession.
Consultation Format
Veterinary consent is required prior to treatment, Arc will ensure this is obtained after the client has booked an appointment.
The physio consultations combine a full clinical assessment with massage and relaxation techniques and necessary treatment protocols. It is highly likely some of the assessment and treatment will take place within the pool as this gives the therapist a broader picture of the animals coping ability.
On occasions the therapist may employ the use of physio aids for their treatment but the client will be informed first. If these aids are required at home the client will be given the means of acquiring them and how to effectively use them.
The owner will be present the entire time and will be given advice as to how to continue the treatment plan at home.
Clients are encouraged to bring their pet to the centre for their treatment as this is the most effective place to conduct the consultation. On occasions it may be necessary to see the patient in their home environment, this can be arranged if required.
The consultation is conducted within a private room within the ARC centre but clients have free access to of ARC’s facilites during their stay.
