Dog Grooming

Our grooming centre is run efficiently by Nina Burrows. Having in excess of 12 years dog grooming experience a city in guilds qualification in grooming and a wealth of general animal experience, Nina offers a really personal, professional service.

The Groom Room

The groom room is self contained with its own separate entrance door situated at the back of the ARC building. The clients have free use of all of ARC’s facilities during the time they are dropping off or collecting their pet.

The groom room contains all the necessary grooming equipment and secure place for the dogs to stay before and after their groom.

Bookings can be made with the groomer direct or within the centre.

Care

All of the animals visiting ARC are handled with the upmost level of care and expertise. They will undergo a general assessment and the client may be given advice on coat management and skin care. In the unlikely event that our groomer finds a problem with one of their animals, the owner will be notified immediately and referred back to their vet.

All requirements from the owner will be adhered to providing the animals welfare is not brought into question. For instance, if your animal is considered too matted to be brushed out and the groomer perceives this to cause excessive stress you may be asked to consent to an alternative treatment.

Specialist Cuts

Nina is experienced in all forms of grooming and can competently perform all desired cuts on all breeds of dog.

Cats

Nina is one of very few groomers who are happy to groom cats.

Aggressive Dogs

Nina is an extremely skilled dog groomer who is also competent at dealing with many dog behaviour issues, aggression being the most significant. We would request that all clients inform the centre as to the seriousness of their dog’s behaviour and it may be necessary to undertake a short, free behaviour assessment first.

Medicated Shampoo’s

The centre uses high quality, evening primrose and aloe vera shampoos. If your pet has any specialist, veterinary shampoo prescribed then please ensure you bring it along with your pet an inform the groomer of any skin conditions in advance.
